2024-25 Concert Dates and Information

Homecoming is just over two weeks away and we are once again selling Heart River Homecoming shirts. If you would like one, please reach out to Mrs. Henson at the school or email at emily.henson@k12.nd.us. The deadline to order is Thursday August 29. The Homecoming game is Friday, September 6 versus the Southern McLean Roughriders. Be sure to come out and cheer on our Heart River Cougars! 🏈

BES Staff conquered the first day of school 2024-25.

Our open house is this Monday from 4:00 to 6:00. We hope to see you there! It'll be a great time to check out your classrooms and meet your teachers!!

Reminder: student and parent orientation meeting for incoming freshman and sophomore's in Mrs. Henson's room at 6:00 tonight! Doors to the elementary will open at 5:45!

Attention junior and senior parents! Mrs. Henson will not be at registration on Tuesday. If you are interested in taking dual-credit courses, please come Thursday August 8. If that date does not work, please contact Mrs. Henson on Teams or at Emily.henson@k12.nd.us to make other arrangements!

Let the Belfield After Prom Committee cook for you on Wednesday, June 19th, at the Belfield Pavilion from 5:30-7 pm. We are serving BBQ beef sandwiches, potato salad, pasta salad, coleslaw, watermelon, pickles and a variety of desserts! Come out and support a great cause!

Dawsyn Malkowski was nominated for the State FFA Officer position of Sentinel!! His campaign will begin tomorrow morning, and the delegate voting will take place tomorrow afternoon. Congratulations Dawsyn, and best of luck!! The FFA State Degree is one of the highest awards that students can earn from the ND FFA. Quintavia Polensky, Morgan Vesey, Emmet Reis, and Dawsyn Malkowski all worked hard to fill the requirements to receive this award. Congratulations to all of you!!

2nd grade End-of-Year Celebration

Congratulations to the newest members of the ST Math Club: Valerie reached the 400% Club; Jace reach the 300% Club; and Ivan joined the 100% Club! We are so proud of your effort and dedication to learning!

Our last day of school is Wednesday May 22. We will dismiss at noon that day. Graduation will be Sunday May 26 at 2 pm in the gym. Have a wonderful summer break!!

From the office of the Business Manager: Summer EBT Program In summer 2024, North Dakota will launch Summer EBT, a new grocery benefits program that provides families $120 for each eligible school-aged child to buy groceries when school is out. Summer is a time when many children lose the free and reduced-price meals they get at school, and when households might need a little extra help putting meals on the table. Most families will get these benefits automatically, but some parents will need to apply. The new program is in addition to free meals that kids of all ages can get at summer meal sites in their communities. Most parents or guardians of eligible students will receive an email that provides information about the student's eligibility, how to update address information or how to opt out of the program if they choose. We were not able to get email addresses for every eligible student. Parents or guardians may contact our office if they don’t get an email and want to know if they will receive benefits and/or update their address information. We have a special Summer EBT email address: NDSEBT@nd.gov and the webpage is NDSummerEBT.nd.gov Eligibility: Children are eligible for the program if: · the child attends a school that offers the National School Lunch or School Breakfast Program, and a. the household receives SNAP, FDPIR, or TANF benefits, or b. the household income meets the requirements for free or reduced-price school meals. Many families will get Summer EBT automatically, but some families may need to apply. · If your children don’t meet the eligibility criteria listed above, but you think your household is eligible for Summer EBT, you can apply for Summer EBT by filling out a simple application. The application will be available online at https://ndsummerebt.nd.gov/ on April 24, 2024. How Summer EBT Works: The benefits will be provided on a separate EBT card for each eligible student and can be used to buy groceries. Families will receive $120 per eligible child for the summer. Benefits can be used at authorized retailers, like grocery stores and farmers markets, to purchase healthy foods like fruits, vegetables, meats and other protein sources, whole grains, and dairy. The School-wide Title I surveys that were mailed last week are due tomorrow, May 15. Families that return the survey will be entered into a drawing for a Hess Police Truck. We would appreciate your input and assistance. Thank you!

Today our very own Mrs. Vicki Mattson was awarded the first ever North Dakota Excellence in Education for Student Advocacy! Congratulations, Mrs. Mattson!! We are so proud of you!!

We've been pranked! Check it out. Teachers whose rooms were barricaded needed to win at corn hole or jump in the bouncy castle. It's been a busy morning here at BHS! Well played, Class of 2024!

This Wednesday night we are showing off the hard work of our Fine Arts students! This will include all of our state qualifiers who made it to state music and state speech. We hope you'll stop by and check it out!!

Our students had a great day at State Music yesterday! Aubrey and Tanner received “1 or excellent” rating on their solos, and Elise and Tessa received “star or superior” ratings on their solo, the highest ranking!! Congratulations!!
